DeftPower is a white-label solution for companies that want to take EV drivers’ experience to a brand new level.
These days it’s not enough just to design & build a great electric car — users also expect to have a convenient way to interact with it. DeftPower provides this way by offering a white-label application for companies that want to enter the eMobility market. While companies get a stable and highly customizable solution to fit their business needs, end-users can enjoy a pixel-perfect app. It helps to manage the whole cycle: from the search for charging stations to the charging process itself & history management.

Challenge
White-label development is always a double challenge.
On one hand, it’s important to build a solution that fits the needs of multiple customers – it must be both stable and highly customizable. On the other hand, in the EV charging domain, customization goes far beyond color schemes and logos.
For DeftPower, we had to enable deeper personalization options, such as customizable sign-up flows and support for different vehicle lists. The goal was to ensure that every white-label version could adapt to each client’s business model without compromising stability or user experience.
Process
DeftPower was an outstaff project, where we partnered with the client to provide dedicated development resources for their specific needs. This model allowed the client to access skilled talent from Stormotion while retaining full flexibility in managing scope, budget, and timeline.
Our two React Native developers joined the client’s in-house team to deliver cross-platform applications for both iOS and Android. The collaboration focused on code quality, design improvements, and smooth performance – all integrated within the client’s existing CI/CD workflow.

Solution
The project resulted in a complete overhaul of the existing app, transforming it into a stable, customizable, and user-friendly solution.
We left enough flexibility for business-specific adjustments while ensuring consistent performance across all white-label versions. The app not only met the client’s requirements for complex customization (such as custom sign-up and supported car lists) but also significantly improved the UX, UI, and overall performance.
We also focused on animations on the charging and history screens, making the app easier to understand and more enjoyable to use.
Success for Deftpower from a:
PM Perspective
To meet tight deadlines and evolving customization needs, the team adopted an agile development framework, organizing the work into short, iterative sprints. This allowed continuous feedback from the client, early validation of new features, and quick adaptation to requirements - ensuring that the product roadmap stayed aligned with DeftPower’s business objectives.
Development Perspective
The team focused on modular architecture to support different sign-up flows, car lists, and interface variations without compromising performance. By optimizing animations and refining the UI logic, the developers improved the responsiveness and clarity of key screens, such as charging and history. Built with React Native, Redux, and Google Maps, the final solution ensured smooth cross-platform performance and an elevated user experience.
Overall Business / Roadmap Perspective
Delivering a more stable, customizable, and user-friendly solution had a measurable impact on DeftPower’s performance metrics. Positive feedback also grew by 45 %, as users praised the improved design, functionality, and smoother navigation. Additionally, daily active users rose by 35 %, demonstrating stronger engagement and long-term trust in the updated application.

"We originally got in touch with Stormotion from our original app developer. And very soon we found real value in choosing Stormotion, because they previously had real valuable experience on the field – digital apps working in the realm of EV charging. So, it was really a no-brainer for us to to go with them."

"The Stormotion team quickly became our team for everything Native app-related. It would be hard to name all the things that we built over the many years we worked together, but overall, I think we had a good partner who was able to adapt the way we worked, and the way they worked. So that we could ultimately build a product that had the quality that we wanted and with the speed that we wanted."

"Given a tough budget and a lack of knowledge in our own engineering team, we quickly came to Stormotion. We had already worked together on previous projects, and I knew that, based on React Native, we could have one engineer responsible for it. That was just amazing because I could really focus on our customer side, knowing that the mobile application for the testers was in very good hands."

"I highly recommend Stormotion as a service provider for app development. They're young, flexible, dynamic, creative and very fast. The cost of planning and implementation is also reasonable. As they use "pay as you go", have a good plan first – then the result also will be satisfactory."
